The Girl Everyone Thinks Is A Backstabber - Cycle 3

Original Airdate: October 6, 2004

During this episode, each girl was given a new look. Some makeovers were drastic - Jennipher was told that her waist-length hair would be cut and donated to Locks of Love, and Amanda was transformed from a brunette to an ice blonde. For that week’s shoot, each contestant was challenged to take a beauty shot without any make-up. Julie Titus, a young woman of Indian descent, was eliminated. In addition to a weak photo, she had revealed during judging that her motive for being on the show was not to launch a modeling career but rather to gain an edge in fashion manufacturing, her true passion.

Original Airdate: September 29, 2004

The final 14 are flown to Jamaica for their first photoshoot, where they meet their director of photography for the season, Jay Manuel, and are told to pose in swimsuits against the backdrop of the Jamaican shoreline.

The next day, the girls learn that they would be flying back to the States for the remainder of the competition. They receive an envelope containing air tickets with individual girl’s names printed on them. Magdalena is the first ever girl to be eliminated outside the judging panel, being eliminated on the spot when she does not receive her ticket.

Once they land, the girls proceed to their first official judging and elimination panel, where the weak photos of Leah and Ann cause them to fall to the bottom two, where Leah is found to be more “plain Jane”, and is eliminated.

The Girl With The Secret - Cycle 3

Original Airdate: September 22, 2004

The 34 semifinalists meet in Los Angeles and have a pool party to celebrate making it that far. Deciding to have a bit more fun, some of the girls trek out to a local hotspot where one semifinalist gets into a bar fight with a local, and is disqualified for violence. This happens to be Tiffany Richardson, who later went for anger management classes and re-auditioned for Cycle 4, and was successful.

Later on, the girls have one-on-one introductions to the judges and a cut is announced where 14 out of the 34 girls are eliminated, leaving a final 20. A second cut soon after eliminates 6 more girls and the final 14 is revealed.

Anna - Eliminated 1st after refusing to do the first photoshoot which involved only body paint covering the contestants’ bodies. Felt an obligation to be a role model to the wives and mothers of America (she was a wife and mother herself), and believed only her husband should see her naked. However she did not execute her intentions well enough at panel and the judges felt she contradicted herself. The Girl Who Becomes America’s Next Top Model - Cycle 1

Original Airdate: July 15, 2003

In the first half of Cycle 1’s finale, the three finalists were evaluated by Kimora Lee Simmons and again by the judging panel. In a surprising elimination, Elyse and Adrianne - a pair that had become close friends through the competition - were placed in the bottom two, and Elyse was ousted because the judges felt her intelligence sometimes came across as superciliousness and that she had not taken to heart the judges’ credence in modeling being a profession that required brains and beauty. Soon after this, Adrianne and Shannon faced off on the runway modeling Baby Phat fashions, and finally both girls faced the panel one last time. Tyra told the remaining girls that the winner would receive a contract with Revlon, a spread in Marie Claire magazine, and a contract with Wilhelmina Models. After evalulating, Tyra told that America’s Next Top Model will be revealed on a large cover of fictional ANTM Magazine behind the judges’ panel. The sheet draped over the picture fell down as Adrianne is declared the winner.
