Where we left off: Following some challenging shoots down under in Sydney, Australia, Tyra Banks — with the help of the two Jays, Twiggy and Nigel — christened Jaslene Gonzalez as Cycle 8’s Top Model, giving the franchise its first bilingual, Hispanic winner.
What’s next: Going green. This season doesn’t shy away from hot topics — like saving the planet. First up, the girls move into an eco-friendly Los Angeles crib, and ditch the limo for a biodiesel-fueled bus. Don’t miss the second episode unless you want to be a watercooler outcast. “We have a very controversial photo shoot that is going to spark a lot of debate,” promises executive producer Ken Mok. “It centers on an issue that everybody’s talking about.” Plus: A major recording artist shoots a racy music video with the girls — and sparks fly between the contestants and the sexy chart-topper. Mok also reveals that one girl will receive a lot of attention this season. “She has a particular disability that people will talk about and relate to.” And for the final showdown, the top girls jet off to Beijing and Shanghai in China. — TV Guide
Today’s (12-05-07) show was the most racially bias show I have ever seen on ANTM period. Jenna was ready to go home, but they would rather keep her there unhappily than to keep Bianca the one who would rather be there and possibly improve. When Ebony was ready to go home they sent her, no questions asked. As a matter of fact, they kept Ambreal longer than they would have just to send Ebony home early. Jenna always looks ragedy and unkept. Tyra has told her to comb her hair before she comes to panel weeks ago. Nothing has changed. Tyra told Ebony to smile when she comes to panel and it most certainly was mentioned before they saw her again. By the way Ebony was smiling the next time they saw her. I haven’t heard another word about Jenna’s raggedy appearance anymore and it has not improved. Today, Twiggy told Bianca that she needed to see more of her eye because it was a side profile shot. Chantel also had a side profile shot. I couldn’t even tell if she had eyes. No one said a word about it. Same thing exactly for Jenna. I just can not believe how one sided this competition has been. I’m very disappointed. It is obviously two sets of rules for the girls, the blonde rules, which can be followed if its not too hard, and the black rules, which better be followed and pre-anticipated if they ever want to see tomorrow.
