The Girls Go to Phuket - Cycle 6
Original Airdate: May 10, 2006
The remaining four contestants learn that they will be going on go-sees. They learn about Thai social etiquette from a designer, who tells them that it is customary to remove shoes before entering a place, to smile constantly, and to purchase gifts for the clients. She gives the girls money to buy gifts before they visit the clients and reminds them to come back by 4:30 PM. The girls each travel in a tuk-tuk to the various clients. On their way back, Danielle, Joanie, and Sara are caught in traffic jams and are late, as result. Jade, meanwhile, visits another client and ends up being one hour and ten minutes late. The designer tells the girls that nobody will win the reward, which is two racks of clothing from the clients, because they were late but informs Danielle that she would have won. The next day, the girls fly to Phuket for a photo shoot. There, Joanie tells Danielle that she does not think Sara has a passion for modelling and expresses annoyance at being copied. Tyra Banks visits the girls and tells them about the tsunami tragedy in December 2004. They all have a moment of silence. The girls travel to a beach for the photo shoot, which is an ad for OP Swimwear which will be in ELLEGirl magazine. Nigel Barker is the photographer. The judges’ reactions to the final photographs are as follows:
- Sara: Fair
- Joanie: Excellent
- Danielle: Poor
- Jade: Excellent
At judging, Nigel is impressed by Jade’s photograph and says that he sees a new side of her. Danielle and Sara land in the bottom two. Danielle is once again criticized for her manner of speaking, but Sara ultimately goes because the judges feel that she has not improved enough.
